Camp ActivitiesIn addition to offering instruction in a variety of art forms, Flower Camp provides a setting in which "campers" can learn from each other and the outdoors. Traipsing around the countryside in all sorts of weather, we have witnessed dew drops frozen on the tips ofgrass and a luna moth newly emerged from its cocoon. Because our setting is remote, there are few outside distractions (none if you leave your cellphone at home!), and many campers are surprised to discover just how much they can learn in an environment where they can focus on one thing--the topic they have chosen to study--and someone else is doing the cooking! (We have, by the way, had some campers say they come to Flower Camp just for the food!) All of our workshops use the native, naturalized, and cultivated plants (as well as the wildlife) at Flower Camp as inspiration for activities that involve beginners and experts in careful observation and extended practice. We also allow time for leisurely rambles, wildflower identification, bonfires, and rocking on the porch.
